DONATIONS

The Marquette County History Museum has been collecting and preserving items that document the history of the area since 1918. We have an excellent collection of artifacts, books, maps, photos and many other documents as part of our permanent collection. Many items are rare and unusual and can be found no where else but in the museum or Longyear Library. Some items have been purchased, but most have been donated by area residents. We believe in preserving the past for future generations!

What kinds of records do we collect?

Journals, diaries, letters
Family genealogies
Local history books
Unpublished papers
Yearbooks
Photographs
Scrapbooks
Maps
Business ledgers
Organization records and minutes
Personal papers

How do I make a donation?

Contact Librarian Rosemary Michelin by email rmichelin@sbcglobal.net, by telephone (906) 226-3571 or by address, Marquette County History Museum, John M. Longyear Library, 213 N. Front St. Marquette, MI. 49855

The librarian or curator will be happy to visit your home or office to preview items or they can be mailed or brought to the museum. A gift receipt will be given to you for your records. Donations are tax deductible.

Let us help you clean out grandma’s attic and help preserve Marquette County history at the same time!
