When you need to know about the past, the Marquette County History Museum is the source. In fact, we are the official county historical society, a private nonprofit organization.

We offer changing and permanent exhibits about the history of the region in the museum; we organize educational and entertaining public activities. Special tours and programs are available for schools and community groups.

The J.M. Longyear Research Library houses an internationally recognized collection of books, manuscripts, maps, photographs and records relevant to the history of the Upper Great Lakes. Books pertaining to the history of the region are also published by the library.
