It was 1918 when a group of forward-thinking individuals began to collect the invaluable documents, photographs, maps and artifacts which reflect the unique culture of Marquette County. Since then, the Museum and Library have grown so extensively, that we are moving to a larger facility, currently being renovated in downtown Marquette. It will open in 2010. It is through the support of members that we’ve been able to continue to preserve, interpret and educate for more than 90 years.
Members enjoy benefits such as free admission to the museum, a 10% discount in the Museum Store on non-consignment items, and advance notice of special events. Supporting and Lifetime Memberships receive free research privileges in the J. M. Longyear Library. Members also receive a subscription to our quarterly history journal, "Harlow’s Wooden Man," which offers unique articles about Upper Peninsula history, photographs, and news about the Museum.
