The Marquette County History Museum began an awards program in 1984 to recognize and foster preservation and enhancement of the history of Marquette County. The Helen Longyear Paul award is given to individuals and the Peter White award honors foundations, companies, organizations and institutes. Marquette County has a proud heritage and there are many who have worked to interpret, preserve and share it. Previous recipients of the awards:
