Annual Meeting Pictures

On January 26, 2006, we had the annual business meeting. Following the meeting, we had a program by Karl Bohnak titled "So Cold a Sky, Upper Michigan Weather History."

  Lon & Lynn Emerick accept the Helen Longyear Paul Award from Trustee Carol Brady.  The award is given to an individual(s) who have contributed to the preservation and enhancement of history in the area.  Between them they have written numerous historical books, such as Lumberjack, Going Back to Central, The Superior Peninsula, and You Wouldn't Like it Here. and given many presentations about local history.

WNMU-TV/FM received the Peter White Award for outstanding achievement by an organization/business in the preservation and enhancement of local history.  Since 1985, WNMU-TV has produced twenty documentaries featuring the heritage of Upper Michigan.  From Gwinn: Model Town to Lumberjack Life, which won a Michigan Emmy in 2004, to Copper, Iron and Gold:  Upper Michigan's Legacy, their most recent production. Over the years, WNMU-TV has consistently demonstrated that local history is a priority.
