WNMU-TV/FM received the Peter White Award for outstanding achievement by an organization/business in the preservation
and enhancement of local history. Since 1985, WNMU-TV has produced twenty documentaries featuring the heritage of Upper Michigan. From Gwinn: Model Town to Lumberjack Life, which won a Michigan Emmy in 2004, to Copper, Iron and Gold: Upper Michigan's Legacy, their most recent production. Over the years, WNMU-TV has consistently demonstrated that local history is a priority.
